In 2008, Pennsylvania passed Act 3, the Right to Know Law. This law provides for access to public information, for a designated open-records officer in each government agency and establishes an Office of Open Records for monitoring and enforcing compliance with the law. Authority Board (1 Open Position)

The Authority Board consists of 6 members appointed by the Borough of Pleasant Hills and 1 member appointed by South Park Township. The Authority Board hires and appoints a Manager to handle the day to day operations of the Authority.

Sewage Treatment Plant Employees (1 Open Position)

WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT LAB TECHNICIAN

The Borough of Pleasant Hills is located in Allegheny County PA. The WWTP is a 5.0 MGD Activated Sludge Facility with three remote pump stations and two eq basins. We are responsible for treating wastewater from six different Municipalities.

Candidates must possess and maintain:

  • Class A, E Subclass 1, 4, 5 or have the qualifications to upgrade to this certification.
  • Valid Pennsylvania Drivers License.
  • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent.
  • Accreditations for the following sample methods:
    • Fecal Coliform – Colilert 18/Quantitray
    • Residue, Nonfilterable (TSS) – SM2540 D
    • BOD/CBOD – SM5210 B
    • Ammonia as N/Distillation Variance – USGS I-3520-85

Candidates must be able to perform the following job duties:

  • Perform all duties of the Laboratory Supervisor associated with the State Lab Accreditation.
  • Perform all duties of the Pretreatment Coordinator including the scheduling and completion of testing for Pretreatment Program.
  • Conduct laboratory tests in various stages of the wastewater treatment process to ensure that all Federal, State and County regulations are met.
  • Monitor and record test results performed by plant operators.
  • Record test results of all samples and submit all reports to the proper agencies for review.
  • Communicate all plant changes or adjustments to Management.
  • Work weekends and holidays on a rotation basis-4hr shifts, avg.15 weekends and 3holidays per/yr.

Base Pay Rate is $33.51 per/hr.

Pre-employment Drug/Alcohol testing and background check is required.
